Company History
Frustrated with the world of regular managed healthcare with insurance companies dictating medication, treatment plans, and abbreviated patient visits, Dr. Robin A. Hall knew her patients deserved more. She knew there had to be a better way to define and deliver healthcare. Healthcare in the United States is, at best, a model of sick care. Her vision was a true model of prevention and enhancing quality of life. This new model she envisioned would not be acute and episodic like the current state. It would be continuous with frequent office visits focused on patient education and lifestyle optimization in order to prevent disease before it starts. Armed with enthusiasm, a previous history of building a successful family medicine clinic, and a never give up attitude she set out to start something special.
This type of practice, now known as concierge medicine, did not exist in Tarrant County in the early 2000’s. Many of her peers (and banks) thought Dr. Hall would not be successful with her vision of health, prevention, and a higher quality of care. The naysayers thought people with health insurance would not pay out of pocket to have a personal physician. They were flat out wrong!
Despite starting Destination Health® on the doorstep of a global financial crisis in 2005, Dr. Hall attracted patients and made an impact on lives. With the U.S. embarking on a six-year recession she found success professionally, personally, and financially.
From the beginning, Destination Health® stood out as a bright light in healthcare with it’s new model and set the standard of healthcare in Tarrant County. As the years moved on, more and more doctors and patients have accepted this type of healthcare as superior to the alternative one of sick care. As of October 2021, the publication Concierge Medicine Today states 12,000 concierge physicians are practicing in the U.S. Today, Destination Health® is cited annually as the Top Concierge Family Medical Practice in Tarrant County.
In 2020, Dr. Hall brought in an ambitious and like-minded Osteopathic Physician, Dr. Carl DuCharme to allow Destination Health® to provide care for more members of the community. Then, in Spring 2022, Dr. Hall transitioned out of full-time medical practice, and Dr. DuCharme became the new owner and primary physician at Destination Health®. Dr. DuCharme is proud to carry on the legacy that Dr. Hall fought so hard to establish and maintain. Currently, the practice is thriving and so are it’s patients.
